Infectious Disease Sub-Specialty Training Program
The Calgary Adult Infectious Disease Residency Training Program trains those clinicians intent on pursuing a career in clinical infectious diseases. Trainees can expect expert tutelage in all area disciplines, broad exposure to infectious disease presentations, and opportunities to excel in research and education.

Internal Medicine
Dr. Bayan Missaghi serves as the ID division liaison with the internal medicine residency training program. Dr. Missaghi will assist local and visiting residents in understanding the expectations and outputs required during their ID block.

Antimicrobial Stewardship – Fellowship
Dr. John Conly (Adult Infectious Diseases) and Dr. Joseph Vayalumkal (Pediatric Infectious Disease) lead this fellowship training. This program, one of the first in the country attracts highly motivated individuals from disciplines including infectious diseases and medical microbiology to pursue advanced training in antimicrobial stewardship. The duration of the training program is 1 year and trainees who complete the program will be eligible for Area of Focused Competence (AFC) Diploma (pending approval) through the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in the future.
